Alissa Campbell Shaw, EdD, has a talent for bringing others along with her vision and for executing on carefully developed and researched strategies that provide meaningful impact on a company’s ability to do good. With an extensive background in community giving and a drive to improve people’s lives, Alissa has demonstrated business agility combined with compassion. She currently serves as the executive director, International Paper Company Foundation, and senior manager of Global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Community Engagement in the Corporate Affairs organization at International Paper (IP). In this role, she leads IP’s global citizenship and community engagement efforts by advancing strategies to mobilize her company’s people, products and resources to address critical community needs. Alissa has put her skills and passion to work in Memphis, TN at ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the University of Memphis and for the past seven years at International Paper. At IP, Alissa has successfully worked to evolve the company’s culture and approach toward social impact, building global systems to evaluate and measure impact-driven engagement that is aligned with the company’s signature causes. Alissa is personally dedicated to creating a more just and peaceful world through volunteerism. Since 2018, she has served on the Board of Directors for Champions for Literacy (CFL), which uses the power of sports to ensure that every child in America has the ability to read. Since 2022, she has served as a mentor with NEXUS Leaders helping young professionals to reach their life and career goals. She and her family are also involved in AFS Intercultural Programs USA’s year-long high school exchange programs. Together, they have hosted students from France, Hungary and are currently hosting a student from Italy this 2023-2024 academic year. She is a proud member of the Leadership Memphis Executive Program’s Class of 2020.
