- WaterBit and AT&T are making automated irrigation easier for growers. WaterBit chose AT&T to provide highly secure connectivity to its autonomous irrigation solution. The smart irrigation solution helps farmers increase yield and conserve resources.
In-field data collection of soil moisture and nutrients gives farmers near real-time insight into crop conditions. Integrating data collection with WaterBit’s cloud-based software lets growers monitor and analyze soil moisture, as well as plan and control irrigation with pinpoint accuracy.
“With WaterBit, precision and science will better inform water delivery and translate into higher yields that can be sustained," said Chandler Bennett, production manager at Madison Farms - WaterBit customer.

The list ranks companies based on their reputation among business leaders, and is gathered through surveys with executives across more than 50 industries. Executives are asked to name companies that they admire, both inside and outside of their industry. Companies are assessed on nine attributes, including innovation, people management, use of assets, social responsibility, management quality, financial soundness, long-term investment value, quality of products and services, and global competitiveness.

- AT&T is working with the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) to help the next generation of LGBT and allied leaders continue the fight for equality with AT&T’s first-ever Live Proud on Campus campaign.
The campaign calls on college students 18 and over to submit a video pitch describing an LGBT-supportive project they’d like to see in place at their schools. The public will vote on fifteen semi-finalist videos to choose six finalists, and HRC, the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer civil rights organization, will select 3 grand prize winners.

- Teach For America announced today that it will expand its Computer Science (CS) initiative, bringing high-quality opportunities to teachers and students in the Bay Area with support from AT&T. Through its signature philanthropic initiative, AT&T Aspire, the technology company will contribute $200,000 to Teach For America–Bay Area toward providing Udacity Nanodegree credential scholarships to help students learn the skills needed for entry-level jobs in the tech industry, and also to provide quality professional development and resources for teachers reaching 2,570 students across the Bay Area.
