Ikarus orchestrates all commercial activities at Varaha, where he spearheads efforts in fundraising at both the project and equity levels and manages the direct and indirect sales of carbon credits through intermediaries.
Previously a founder and venture capitalist, Ikarus co-founded Wi Venture in 2018, one of the first climate-tech VCs in Europe. His investments span diverse sectors including energy, mobility and carbon removal including 1komma5, recognized as the fastest-growing climate tech startup in Europe; Ecoworks, ranked the top Climate Tech startup by Dealroom and Sono Motors, which successfully went public. His portfolio also includes Carbon Future—the largest CDR marketplace globally—and Klim, a leading developer of European regenerative agriculture carbon projects.
Before his venture into venture capital, Ikarus founded an electric vehicle company and held various management roles at Schneider Electric. He holds degrees in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration from RWTH Aachen University, one of Germany's top three technical universities.
