Chief Technology Officer

Steve is a technologist and serial entrepreneur with 30 years of experience designing complex software systems, building and leading great teams, and delivering products on time and on budget across the software, media, and marketing services industries. His team at Sustainable Brands is responsible for delivering the company’s digital products and managing its internal business systems. He personally leads development of SB’s Brand Transformation Roadmap self-assessment tool.

Most recently, Steve was CTO for SocialCode, a leading social marketing software and services firm that managed nearly $1B of performance advertising for Fortune 500 and emerging growth brands on Facebook and other leading social platforms. He staffed and lead a 75-person organization for the company, spanning Engineering, QA, Data Science, IT, Security, and Compliance. While there, Steve and his team delivered the company’s successful flagship product: Audience Intelligence Platform (AIP), an identity-centric SaaS marketing solution that enables brands to efficiently market to people-based audiences in a privacy-safe manner across Facebook, Amazon, Google, and other major platforms.

Before joining SocialCode, Steve served as CTO for Dashbox, where he built mission-critical music licensing workflow and audio asset management software and services for the TV, film, advertising, and sports industries (acquired: FilmTrack Inc., Nov 2014). Prior to Dashbox, he founded and served as CEO/CTO of Soundflavor, a Pandora-like provider of powerful music search and discovery products for consumers and the music industry, where he raised $7M in venture financing and scaled the company to 49 employees (acquired: Ricall Ltd., Dec 2008).

Steve began his career at Microsoft, where he spent nine years shipping over 50 products as a developer, QA Manager, and Group Program Manager in the Visual Studio and Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) teams. There, he spearheaded initiatives to evangelize strategic technologies including ActiveX, DirectX, and Internet Explorer.
